Question 3

(Essay)

Would a double-stranded DNA molecule carry more information than a single-stranded RNA molecule of the same length? Why?

Answer

Both could carry the same amount of information. Because the bases in double-stranded DNA are paired A with T and G with C, specifying the sequence of either strand also specifies the other. Therefore the number of possible sequences is identical in a double stranded DNA molecule and a single-stranded RNA molecular of the same length.
